Perez Haters Gloat as Advertisers Jump Ship, Miley Says He's an Idiot

Valerie Ferrari
Perez Hilton has made a video to defend his behavior in publishing an upskirt photo of 17 year Miley Cyrus on Twitter, showsing off her underage assets, where she was getting out of a car. It's a big joke, according to Perez, and "a fake controversy." Perez also denies that Miley Cyrus isn't wearing underwear. He insists in his ridiculous video that the photos in the paparazzi set showed Miley was "clearly" wearing underwear.

"Sure, I like to be controversial," Perez says, "but I don't want to go to jail ... People, snap out of it!"

The initial backlash from the photo was angry and so swift that, blink! The photo was taken down right away. But Mike Lavalette of GossipCenter.com says he saw some of the other photos: "While Perez's Twitter pic has been removed since the public uproar, more photos show Miley trying her best to cover up with her tight white dress ... it's uncertain as to whether she's wearing underwear," and he seemed to think the photos were very revealing. "... it seems clear that she's either going commando or rocking an itsy-bitsy thong."

Fox News reports that serious legal trouble, where Perez may have unwittingly violated laws that could land him in a whole mess of trouble -- in jail and even on the sex offender registry -- is just not going to happen. A Santa Monica lawyer, Steve Cron, who specializes in criminal defense matters told them that Miley Cyrus would have to file a complaint, or prosecutors would have to start an investigation with either the U.S. Attorney's office or the local District Attorney or US Attorney's office.

But consequences of another nature have already begun to strike: advertisers are pulling their ads off Perez's "Celebrity Juice - Not from Concentrate" blog. ABC reportedly has pulled its ads for "The View" and Dan Gainor, Director of MRC's Culture and Media Institute, applauds the move. Pulling no punches, he said: "There has to be a point where these companies that support Perez Hilton, acknowledge that they're endorsing a scumbag." He characterized Hilton as a "cyber bully," adding, "Here we are in the Internet age trying to protect children, and he does disgusting things like this for a living - and businesses support it."

Judging from the comments around the internet, Perez Hilton has a lot of haters and the haters are loving seeing him get what they think is coming to him. Perez "made his bones" in the blogging world by outing gay celebrities and constantly insulting people, and in his Miley Cyrus video explanation, he freely admits, almost brags, that he likes to call Miley by the nickname "Slutty Cyrus."

Billboard posted a photo of Perez Hilton posing with Miley Cyrus, while reporting on her conversation with Ryan Seacrest. Miley told Seacrest that Perez was "like some idiot being an idiot."

Perez haters had worse to say: "Perez is a sad excuse for anything rational. Who are the morons who gave him 10 Million dollars?"

Oh, probably the advertisers.

Perez Hilton is not the only one being blamed for the upskirt flap: "I am in no way ... close to liking anything of Perez Hilton but if this is the course to take with him, then Billy Ray Cyrus needs to be hung out to dry for child endangerment. She gets on stage and pole dances with the minimal of clothing, dates older guys, etc., so where is the outrage about her dad pimping her out like a two dollar bubble gum wh0re?"

I agree with you regarding Perez Hilton, he is just a straight scumbag who has nothing 2 do than mess with people better than him. As far as what Miley does, she is 17 or 18 years old. She is grown in my book. I do not think her father can tell her much of anything because for the last 6 years she has been taking care of her family. I do not look down this young girl because she dresses a little questionable. She is grown, and she needs to learn that while she is famous she needs to understand that the way the public views you can go either way. Somethings you only learn with age.

What a waste of protoplasm that guy is. Good write Val. However, Cyrus seems to dig the attention as much as her questionable talented? father, what's his name.

Well-written piece about a bottom feeder (no pun intended)...

These people's lives revolve around such important issues. Argh.

Looks like Hilton really stepped in it this time. He's lost in the Court of Public Opinion even if he has no charges brought against him. As for Miley, if she's doing this stuff now, I wonder how she will act when she does turn 18.

Good recap. BUT the outrage over Hilton is amusing. If no one ever went to his website, then advertizers wouldn't use him. It's that simple. As for Ms. Disingenuous Cyrus, I think she needs to take her thong to the G20 in Toronto. That's usually a pretty boring meeting.

I always thought there was something scummy and low about Perez and what he does. There's nothing redeeming or positive about his line of work and I can't for the life of me, understand why this guy is still around or matters.
