Perez Hilton Assaulted: Black Eyed Peas Manager Arrested

The manager of the Black Eyed Peas was arrested Monday in connection to Perez Hilton, the celebrity blogger, being assaulted outside of a Toronto nightclub around 3 a.m. Perez Hilton told his fans on Twitter that he had been assaulted by Will.i.am and his bodyguards and that he was bleeding. Will.i.am took to Twitter as well, stating that an incensed fan had been the one who was behind Perez Hilton being assaulted. Videos followed from both Perez Hilton and Will.i.am. And then Toronto Police arrested and charged Polo Molina with the Perez Hilton assault after the Black Eyed Peas manager turned himself in.

Perez Hilton says he had went to the Cobra nightclub with Lady Gaga and had gotten into an argument with Fergie and Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. Perez Hilton told the Associated Press that he had called Will.I.am a "faggot," which is a derogatory term for gays, when the frontman of the Black Eyed Peas told him not to write about his band on his blog. When he had attempted to leave the nightclub, Hilton claims to have been blindsided by a thrown punch. He jumped on Twitter and told his fans that he was bleeding and needed the police, claiming to have been assaulted by Will.i.am and his bodyguards.

Perez Hilton later posted a photo of himself showing what appears to be a cut or wound beneath his right eye.

In one video posting after the incident, Will.i.am stated that he had approached Hilton with respect and had subsequently been called a "faggot." In another posting, he said that Perez Hilton was after "mad attention" and that he (Hilton) wasn't actually concerned about his health after being assaulted.

The relationship between the Black Eyed Peas, especially Fergie, and Perez Hilton over the years has been rocky, to say the least. Perez Hilton is unrestrained in his blogging about the lives of celebrities, sometimes bordering on the obnoxious and the tasteless. Fergie openly admitted in 2007 that her hit song, "Pedestal," was about Perez Hilton and his unkind remarks toward her on his blog.

But being assaulted seems to be the nature of the beast that is the job of covering celebrities for the media. TMZ reported and ran the video of Hugh Grant wantonly kicking a paparazzi between the legs in mid-June. And, according to ANI, Kanye West pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor vandalism, battery, and grand theft charges that he and his road manager assaulted a photographer at LAX in September, damaging the photographer's equipment.
