of perfect silence
with you
soft thoughts-
revisiting
a place
a state of grace
seemed
long forgotten
to conduct
such pleasure
in watching
you sleep
with small
wisps of hair
falling across
the curve of your cheek
to feel such comfort
in gently
holding your hand
in feeling
you grasping mine
and smiling at me
at the innocence of it all
the purity
of such a simple gesture
holds deep
unquestionable meaning
these fragments
the most important
paramount experiences
speak in whispers-
the quiet language
of the heart
whispering our truths
silently-
sharing with one another
desires
hopes
disappointments
shame
embarrassments
confusion
beliefs
love
joy
pride
pain
humor
defining ourselves-
and learning
the unexplainable
there is a peace
in understanding
a part of you
that only I have known
a part of you
that only I will ever know
moments
that only I
have spent with you
there are these moments
of perfect silence
with you.
