Perfect Stocking Stuffers for Boys and Young Men

Boys can be difficult to shop for depending on their age. You have to decide where they are at with their development and what they will appreciate as a gift. Here are a few ideas to help you through the decisions of a perfect stocking stuffer for that special young man.

Dangerous Book for Boys - this is a great book for males of all ages but it's also a great way to get some ideas on stocking stuffers as well. Within the first few pages of the book you will find a list of several things that a boy should never be without. When I gave this gift to my nephews, my wife and I had a great time collecting all of the items listed as an added bonus to their stockings that year.

Pocket Knife - this is obviously an age appropriate gift and intended more for the young man than the young child. A simple Swiss Army Knife will hold his fascination for hours and provide a useful tool for any number of things he might come across.

Watch - my first watch was a Mickey Mouse watch with a black leather band that I received when I was seven years old. There's a slew of colors and styles to choose from sure to meet the young man's needs without putting a dent in your pocket book.

Compass - these items are simple yet fascinating for boys of all ages. You can find a number of compasses, both large and small at any sporting goods store but my favorite compass is a military style brass compass fashioned like a pocket watch.

Wallet - he may not have the credit cards and driver's license to go into it yet, but many schools are issuing identification cards in early grades of school. It's also a good way to give a monetary gift as well.

Pen - a Cross pen or similar writing instrument is inexpensive and easy to find but will mean a lot to the young man that is starting to pay attention to some of the finer details. I wouldn't splurge on a La Blanc pen just yet, but this is a good way to get him started.

Cologne - is the boy turning into a young man? Why not help him along that journey by sticking a bottle of cologne into his stocking this year and offer him a little advice that "a little goes a long way" as well.

Nail care kit - is he starting to think that chasing girls is a little more interesting than chasing frogs? A nail care kit will help him understand that the few extra minutes of personal grooming that he takes will go a long way with the girl that he fancies.

Stocking stuffers can be a great way to give a practical and cherished gift to a boy or young man that will be appreciated for years to come.
