The season's opening for 2009 is Beethoven's Ninth, running for three days: January 2nd at 7pm, January 3rd at 8pm and January 4th at 2pm. Later that week, on the 6th, Sharon Isban brings her guitar for a 7:30pm concert.
The following weekend, on the 9th and 10th, Benaroya will host an Evening with Bach at 8pm. In addition to Bach on the 10th, there will also be two matinees of the show, Instruments of the Orchestra at 10:00am and 11:30am.
Later that week, The Borealis String Quartet performs on the 14th at 7:30 pm to be followed by Yefim Bronfman Plays Mozart on the 15th through the 17th. Bronfman's performance will be at 7:30pm on the 15th, 1:00pm on the 16th and then 8:00pm on the 17th.
The San Francisco Symphony comes to Seattle for two performances on the 20th and 21st with their concert starts at 7:30pm. And then from the 22nd to the 25th, Seattle will by jumping with Irvin Mayfield & the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. They perform Thursday the 22nd at 7:30pm and Friday at 8:00pm. On Saturday the 24th they will perform two showings: a matinee at 2:00pm and the concert at 8:00pm. Finally on the 25th, their visit to Seattle wraps up for its final showing at 2:00pm.
Even with all of that, the Benaroya schedule is not finished. On the 28th, the voice of Ewa Podles and the piano of Garrick Ohlsson will begin at 7:30pm. January then comes to a close with two performances of A Russian Evening, held at 7:30pm on the 29th and again at 8:00pm on the 31st.

Whoa! Awesome line up! I have never heard Beethoven's 9th live... That would be an event indeed. And you've better not miss Ewa Podles' recital, too. She's a type of voice that only comes around once a generation!
