Performances at the Moore in Seattle January 2009

The Moore Theatre is another of the three restored theatres in the Seattle WA area. Like The Paramount Theatre, the architectural details add dimension to the live performances you go there to see. To tease you into a visit, here are the January planned performances at the Moore.

On January 16th and 17th, the season opens with performances of The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley. The showings are at 11am and 5pm on Friday the 16th and 11am, 2pm and 5pm on Saturday the 17th. Based on the children's books by author Jeff Brown, this live action play should be a hit with the entire family. Tickets range from $17 to $35.

Next comes the witty, singer-songwriter, Jonathan Coulton, live on the 23rd at 8pm. Tickets are $23 in advance and $25 at the door. Coulton's music is guaranteed to being out the geek in all us.

On Saturday the 24th, the very, very funny comedian Greg Behrendt comes to town for a 7pm performance. Tickets are $29.50. Not a bad price for an evening of side splitting laughter.

Then, to end the month off right, Savion Glover's BARE SOUNDZ will be at The Moore on the 31st. The performance starts at 8pm with tickets ranging from $30 to $55. Glover shows us that tap dancing is an acoustical instrument. He's an amazing dancer.

Just like The Paramount, The Moore also offers free tours of the restored theatre. They are held ever second Saturday of the month. Volunteers meet in front of the theatre on the corner of 2nd and Virginia at 10am. The tour lasts 90 minutes. A new, exciting life from restoration. What a great idea. A good entertainment line-up.
