Stafford Township Arts Center (STAC) is hosting "An Evening with Rita Moreno" at 7pm on October 25, 2009. This multi-talented superstar will make a one-night appearance on the stage of the OceanFirst Theater in Manahawkin, NJ.

Moreno is well known for perpetually breaking barriers in the entertainment world. As listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, Moreno is the only female performer to have won all four of the most prestigious entertainment awards: the Oscar, the Emmy, the Tony and the Grammy.

In 1950, Moreno made her film debut with "So Young, So Bad." Many of Moreno's early roles were stereotypical Latino parts because much of Hollywood practiced cultural stereotyping. As a combination of hard work and luck, Moreno began to surpass typecasting. Moreno appeared in timeless films such as Singin' in the Rain and The King and I in her early career, but reaped true commercial success with the release of West Side Story.

In the following years, Moreno starred in films such as The Night of the Following Day before taking a hiatus to pursue ensemble roles in television shows The Electric Company and The Muppet Show. Additionally, Moreno has appeared on television shows such as Law and Order: Criminal Intent, The Love Boat, The Golden Girls, The CosbyShow, The Nanny, Oz, and Cane.

Moreno also had a thriving Broadway career thanks to her extensive dance training as a child. Notable credits include The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, The Odd Couple, and The Ritz.

In 1995, Moreno received a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame.Moreno has continued to remain active in the entertainment world. Through recent live performances, Moreno strives to connect with her fans, enabling entertainment enthusiasts an intimate look into the life of this multi-talented icon. Her intimate performance at the STAC promises to be a memorable night.
