This is probably why I have always shunned the brand.
Recently however CK came back to haunt me. In another form of course. Calvin Klein ESCAPE. Although this particular perfume has been rifting around since the early 90's, it was the first time I had ever gotten the opportunity to smell this particular scent in the CK line.
The Bottle:
The bottle of ESCAPE is ugly. Like most Calvin Klein perfume bottles; ESCAPE has nothing pretty or feminine about it. If I didn't know any better, I would have assumed that the perfume was for men.
ESCAPE is a cylinder roll shaped glass bottle, with a big ugly stainless steel cap. The perfume itself is a burnt amber/orange color.
The Scent:
I popped off the ugly steel lid, and sprayed ESCAPE onto my wrists and clothing. This is the double whamo test...I see how long it will last on clothing, and how long scent will last directly on skin.
Anyhow, Calvin Klein ESCAPE surprised me with a very feminine scent. Immediately I smelled honey, but it was a light musky scent, with a gorgeous undertone of cherry.
What was unique about it, was that each scent I smelled coming from ESCAPE seemed to take turns displaying its fragrance. First I smell honey, then some gorgeous warm musk, and then cherry lollipops...then back to honey. It was pretty strange, and unique. Usually perfume fragrance just meshes in to create one scent. Escape though reminds me of Febreeze Scent Stories, where one scent is played at a time.
Each scent that the perfume played though was a pleasant one, and I enjoyed it.
Last:
I was hoping Calvin Klein ESCAPE would stick around for the day. I am happy to note that it did. However as time wore thin, the initial scent I was smelling was honey. The musk scent seemed to vanish within a few short hours, as did the cherry.
The honey fragrance though stood around for the majority of the day. On my clothing, it was even better, as the scent was still detectable the next day.
Recommended Wear:
CK says that ESCAPE is considered romantic wear; which is true for the most part. For me though ESCAPE is a scent that I feel would go best on hot summer nights out on the town. It has a very warm sultry scent, that reminds me of summer nights, when the air is still.
Pricing and Availability:
CK Escape may still be found in fragrance department stores. However the best deals are always found online when it comes to perfume. A google search will come up with tons of competitive prices on the perfume. I have found that it is being sold anywhere from $30.00 to around $45.00.
Overall:
A long lasting feminine scent. A sure pleaser to just about any perfume connoisseur.

We believe a woman ought to collect two or three special occasion fragrances. On our list, we include "Opium," whatever you wore to the senior prom, and "Escape."
