Perhaps Lincoln was Correct?

Michigan Democrats do not care about your fundamental liberties! They have essentially betrayed Michigan families and children by their actions while slowly stripping our rights away from us.

Perhaps Lincoln was right?

Many historians argue that Lincoln was incorrect by stating that, "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here". Lincoln spoke these words during the Gettysburg memorial roughly 4 months after the battle took place there. Many believe this speech to be one of the greatest in American history. Historians believe that perhaps Lincoln was being modest when he said that few would remember what was said by him on that day.

Lincoln was correct. No one remembers his speech at the Gettysburg memorial. Americans let our elected officials from both parties strip away our rights everyday. Michigan Democrats continue to grow the size of government as families and children continue to get stepped on. Everyday fathers (for the most part) are turned into a sub-class citizen by the family court system and by the Friend of the Court. Michigan Democrats strongly support the rich law lobby and the unionized Friend of the Court. Michigan demanded Shared Parenting legislation and Michigan Democrats chose to side with extreme groups and the rich law lobby over families and children. They do not want you to know or REMEMBER that they chose to not side with Michigan families.

Many that were opposed to Michigan House Bill 5267 referred to it as a cookie-cutter or one-size fits all approach to child custody disputes. One size does fit all and that is EQUALITY! The only thing that is cookie-cutter is the amount of time MOST fathers get with their children after a divorce. Every other weekend or every other weekend plus a few hours on a weekday. Full-time fathers are stripped of their rights and forced to see their own child or children only a few days a month. Not only are they turned into a sub-class citizen but they are treated as criminals by the Friend of the Court system and the family court system. They are given the title of "non-custodial parent" and are given "visitation time".

Clearly Americans have forgotten the words spoken at Gettysburg or they would not have reelected in Michigan a party that supports inhumane family and child custody laws that destroy children and parents. This injustice occurs daily! There is not only damage that occurs to the father (most cases) but even more damage occurs to the child. Imagine seeing your father everyday and experiencing his love everyday and then suddenly you are forced to see him only 4 days a month. The is a form of state sponsored child abuse! The more non-custodial parents made by this corrupt system, the more federal incentives the state and county governments receive. Government has a vested interest in creating fatherless children and the destruction of families! Clearly Michigan Democrats have embraced this socialist ideology.

So what did President Lincoln say that day? Why is it so important that citizens reeducate themselves with this incredible speech - in particular those parts that have been underlined? Michigan Democrats are not the party for the people! As the title of this Blog states, "We grow at your family's expense". Liberty? Equal? Michigan House Bill 5267 would have allowed both fit parents an EQUAL chance to love, nurture and guide their child or children. Michigan House Bill 5267 would have allowed a child to be EQUALLY loved by both parents. EQUAL parental responsibility for both parents. Michigan Democrats apparently want one parent to be made unequal! This creates the non-custodial parent and throws the entire family into the Title IV-D welfare system.

Lincoln's speech (refined 4 times before that great moment)

"Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived of Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. "

"Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives so that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this."

"But in a larger sense we cannot dedicate-we cannot consecrate-we cannot hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us-that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion-that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain that this nation, under GOD, shall have a new birth of freedom-and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

Lincoln was correct - No one remembers that all men are created EQUAL. No one remembers that this is a government by AND for the people! If they did remember these guiding words of wisdom people would be mad as hell! People would stand up for their rights and liberties! Voters would not support a party that clearly places special interest groups over Michigan families.
