As indicated by the description, this tonic requires a peridot stone. Peridot can be obtained from many science and New Age outlets that provide a selection of stones. I do not recommend using peridot jewelry. The metal mount may interfere with the energy of the tonic and could be corroded during the charging process.
I recommend steeping the tonic on a windowsill that receives full moonlight. During warm weather, it may be placed outside. If you don't have access to moonlight, set the bottle on a mirror in a dim area.
Supplies:
A bottle or jar with a tight-fitting lid
A chalice, glass or bowl
A mortar and pestle or bowl and spoon
Holy water*
Pinch of cinnamon
Dried or fresh rose petals**
One small peridot
Cleanse each item by resting it in a bowl of salt or earth. Hold your hands above the item and visualize a white light filling it, pushing all negativity into the salt to be dispersed. When you feel that the item has been completely cleansed of all energies that may interfere with the tonic's effectiveness, remove it from the bowl.
Fill the chalice with holy water, allowing at least two inches of head room.
Add the cinnamon, saying:
Heal the bruises of my skin.
Rid me of sickness, without and within.
Mend the flesh. Bind the bone.
Cleanse the blood, O healing one.
Tenderize the rose petals with the mortar and pestle. Add them to the tonic, saying:
With the power of purity, beauty and love,
With approval approval of god and goddess above,
Strengthen my body that I may endure
Those injuries clear and infections obscure.
Hold your hands over the bottle. Chant:
Heal my body of every ill.
Strengthen that I remain well.
If you feel heat emanating from the liquid, continue to chant until it cools.
Place the peridot in the bottle. Add the tonic, saying:
Stone of strength, healing gem,
Hold the goddess's power within.
As you steep, hour after hour,
Impart to this liquid your magickal power.
Allow the tonic to steep in the moonlight until you are ready to use it. The longer it steeps, the more concentrated its energies will become.
To use, add a small amount to tea or other beverage that is slowly sipped. Stir clockwise with the middle finger of your dominant hand for three turns. Drink.
* Holy water is simply water that has been blessed. I create holy water by adding a pinch of salt to absorb negativity, holding my hands over the water and requesting divine blessing. If you do not feel qualified to bless the water yourself, you may obtain some from your local clergy.
** Commercially purchased roses may be treated with fertilizers or agents that preserve freshness. If at all possible, use petals from wild roses or those that you've cultivated yourself.
