Stray black
cricket on every-color-under-sun
(looks like mud) carpet, making no
noise. Hooded hunchbacks smuggle
plastic coffee mugs beneath modern
cloaks and hide in wooden cubical
fortresses, deep within the rainbow
forest of periodicals, reading a new
translation of The Dead Sea
Scrolls: "Not just for scholars
anymore." Keep the text boring-
they text on illegally non-silenced
electronic devices-interesting
books might cause you
to say . . . "NO TALKING!"

Post a CommentGreat poem!
This really appeals to me. I love libraries and the periodical section particularly. Awesome work. :-)
far from normal like the periodicals themselves
Anyone who's spent any time in the periodical section of the library can identify with this. Nicely done.
