Perkins Restaurant on Platte in Colorado Springs, CO

Located at 3295 East Platte in Colorado Springs, CO, the girl and I ate at this Perkins after a rather long and tiring day of driving about. We expected it to be pretty full and noisy, sort of like Denny's always is. We were pleasantly surprised by a quiet atmosphere, and friendly staff as well as customers. Good moods were all around.

But first, let's get to the food. When Perkins gives you the plate you ordered, it's full, ladies and gentleman. Really full. In other words, they definitely do not skimp on their portions. We had the buffalo wings appetizer and it was good-sized, as well. The food was great. In my opinion, the food at Perkins beat the other big guys hands down. Decent prices, as well. The restaurant was clean and the feel of the place was pleasant.

Our waitress at Perkins that night, Sarah, was extremely nice and very personable. One might argue that because there weren't many people in the eatery she had time to be jovial, but I got the distinct impression she is just very good at what she does.

The location of the Perkins was nice, as well. We were staying at the Apollo Park Suites on Circle Drive, and so the restaurant was very close to all the things we were visiting. Perkins sits within sight of the Citadel, which is a shopping hot spot in Colorado Springs.

After dinner, although we could no longer eat due to feeling round, we ordered dessert anyhow. Pie. Perkins has all sorts of pies. We had to take our pies home but when we did get around to eating them, we were not disappointed. Talk about good! Yum! So, in short, this author gives Perkins on Platte in Colorado Springs a double thumbs-up.
