Perky Brand Carpet Rake and Groomer Perks Up Your Carpet
Pet Hair and Other Debris Are Handled by the Perky Carpet Rake
The Chore
We have pet hair! Long hair, short hair. Black hair, white hair, gray and brown hair. The dog and cat hair shed weekly in our house can fill a grocery sack or more each week depending on the season. Add in grass, small yard litter, the normal bits of paper, crafting scraps and other small debris that can land on the floor and our floors seldom look decent. We've tried a number of pre-vacuum raking methods to preserve the life of our vacuum cleaners which normally die quickly when asked to clean volumes of pet hair. We've tried a number of carpet rakes with rubber teeth, a rubber blade, metal teeth, unwrapping each with high hopes that this will be the device to keep us off our knees brushing the carpet with a dog brush to get the hair up. All presented serious problems from snagging carpet fibers and damaging the carpet to simply failing to pick up the pet hair. The Perky Carpet Rake and groomer is, finally, the tool that really cleans our carpets of pet hair and other debris.
What It Is
The Perky Carpet Rake is 12 inches long with a double row of nylon teeth, each about 1 1/2 inches long. You can order it with a screw-together handle or use a handle from a broom, mop or other tool. We just ordered the head and use it with the handle from one of the other rakes that disappointed us. This is very light weight so the effort you put into cleaning isn't wasted moving around a heavy tool.
What It Does
As you draw it across the carpet, The Perky Carpet Rake picks up all the hair, short and long alike. The rake rolls up the grass, seeds, sewing threads, paper bits and other debris that pets and people scatter on the carpet. After raking, the carpet is ready for a good vacuuming without having the hair choke up the vacuum cleaner.
Where To Find the Perky Carpet Rake
I got ours online at Miles Kimball. Their prices are among the best, shipping was prompt.

Savings on wear and tear on the vacuum cleaner make this rake a worthwhile investment. Ease of use and effectiveness make the Perky Carpet Rake and Groomer one of the best investments of less than $20 I've made in years. Our backs (and our vacuum cleaner) are grateful.
