Perot-Dell Deal Is a Formidable Force Created

Ross Perot was a one-time presidential candidate running as an independent. He founded Perot Systems, an IT company. Perot Systems has a wide range of products and services. Perot Services runs the gamut of the IT industry. It is for that reason that they are being purchased by Dell.

Cnet news has posted an article by Lance Whitney titled "Dell to buy Perot Systems for $3.9 billion."

What we find out from Whitney is that Dells sells hardware as its main product line. Buying Perot Systems will give both companies a myriad of new opportunities.

Perot Systems has been providing IT solutions to people in government and health care along with business insurance.

Perot Systems and Dell have already worked together to get into the competition of electronic health records.

Dell, as a hardware company has been hit hard and this is aimed at making a difference in their capability to compete globally.

I have been following the business environment since before President Obama took office. The first thing that happened was that large solid banks took over small struggling banks or even banks that were essentially bankrupt.

However in cleaning up the mess that the financial industry found itself in, banks and other lending institutions tightened their lending practices.

All of a sudden it became difficult for businesses to get the money they needed even when they were solid. This included working capital.

Ultimately the way companies have come to grips with this issue is to do just what Dell and Perot Systems have done.

Two companies who are specialists in separate parts of the same industry will join forces in order to get over the problems presented to them with respect to getting money.

Dell is going to acquire all common stock of Perot Systems for $30 per share.

Dell has been hit hard. They are a very large manufacturer of computers and are global. Therefore they have suffered from the global aspects of the recession.

This partnership should allow both Perot Systems and dell to offer many new "solution packages" to the marketplace that will keep them competitive. Had they not teamed up things could have particularly hard on Dell.

At The Transition Companies, we believe that acquiring companies, especially ones that have successfully cornered a specific audience, is often the most efficient and effective way to grow a company. Dell is looking to not only grow organically but to shift their current strategy and begin focusing on the services sector of industry. Through acquisitions like the recent Perot Systems deal, Dell will catapult themselves into the computer services sector allowing them to quickly compete with HP and IBM. "We can definitely expect to see continued acquisitions from Dell", says Mike Ryan of The Transition Companies, "as they cast their net deeper into the computer services sector allowing them to rapidly expand their customer base
