A man named Harold was identified by the Beverly Hills police as a person of interest in the crime. Then, Harold killed himself when the police arrived at the Harvey Apartments on Santa Monica Boulevard where he lived previously, notes Radar Online.
The police had a search warrant to go through his prior apartment. The police had not even yet spoken with Harold before he suddenly shot himself in the head. It seems he committed suicide due to spotting the police in the building.
He had recently been evicted from the apartment. Residents there say he dropped back to the building often and asked if the authorities had been there looking for him, notes the Los Angeles Times.
This man had gloated to others in the building about committing the murder. He told other residents in his former apartment building he was paid $10,000 for the murder of Chasen, notes the Beverly Hills Courier.
He said he served as a hit man in the crime. Are these the rantings of a man who was not well mentally, or did he actually have involvement in the crime? The police have a lot of work ahead of them as they try to figure out if Harold truly was connected to the murder of Ronni Chasen. If he was a hit man, who hired him?
Harold was a former convict who had spent time in jail. It is unknown if he had strong gun skills. Ms. Chasen was killed by five shots in quick succession. Was the murder committed by a professional hit man? That is a mystery that will hopefully soon be solved.
The world mourns Chasen. Her killing could have been random, or the work of a professional. If a hit man was involved in the crime, it is unknown why someone would want to kill Ms. Chasen. There are many, many questions as of yet unanswered in this crime.
Best wishes to the Beverly Hills police as they continue their investigation. Let's hope Ronni Chasen's murder is solved quickly. Until it is, the Beverly Hills community will be on edge.
