Monitor The monitor allows a user to visually see text and images. Output The monitor is an output device as a result of displaying images and text that are a direct result from a user typing in text or visiting websites and so forth.
CPU - Central Processing Unit Controls how data is directed through the computer. Input and Output The CPU is an input and output device because it records data and transmits requested operations to specific areas within the computer system. The CPU is the brains of the computer system.
VGA or Video Graphics Accelerator Card Controls the video capabilities and displays video graphics onto the monitor Input and output The video card is an Input - Output device because it records data and displays the data as an image onto the monitor or a TV screen. Games, videos, movies, web browsing, text and photos are all displayed as a result of the video card (VGA). Another video card is the PCI - PCI express.
RAM (Random Access Memory) - secondary storage device Stores information, such as programs and data while the computer is turned off. Sound Card or integrated sound card on mother board-main board. Transmits sounds through an external speaker system by a physical piece of hardware known as a sound card.
