When I was 7 years old, I was laying in my bed (not asleep) in the pitch dark, when I suddenly saw a figure which looked like my uncle. He quietly said, "good - bye." I was startled by this, since he was alive. I walked into my mother's bedroom to find her crying on her bed. She quickly told me that she had just found out that my uncle passed away. Being 7 years old, it didn't seem weird that I knew this before she did, but it probably wasn't too comforting when I told her I already knew.
I wish I could say the weirdness stopped then, but a few nights later I had woken up early around 5:00AM and in the dark. I was heading down to the family room to watch television before everyone else woke up. Before I could get to the family room, I was stopped by a figure I could only see as a shadow on the wall. I suddenly felt a slight pressure on my shoulders and a gentle push which ended up guiding me back towards my bedroom. I even felt as though I was being lifted up a little bit, but my feet never left the ground. It felt as though I was light as a feather and was being carried. I then heard what sounded like my deceased uncle speak and say, "Go back to bed sweetie." I quickly followed orders and went back to my room. I sat in my bed for about 5 minutes contemplating what just happened, and then ran into my parent's room to see if they heard him. They were still very much asleep, and clearly didn't hear any of this. When I woke them up to tell them what had happened, they passed it off as a nightmare with scared and worried looks on their face. They never really liked it when I brought it up again over the years.
As years passed, odd things continued to happen around house. Things were often moved from where they were placed, and there were many nights when my parents heard chuckling from the family room, and a few times heard the desk chair rolling around. They always tried to debunk these ghostly happenings, but never could quite figured out what was causing these odd noises and moved items.
They seemed a little scared about all of these happenings and would go as far as calling our house somewhat haunted, but I always just feel as though we were being watched over by our loved ones. However, being an adult myself now, I would be completely freaked out if my son came to me and said what I had said to my parents when I was 7 years old.
