While starting a professional organizing business may sound silly, there are people willing to pay others for help with organizing their personal and professional life. With this said, the majority of your clients will require assistance with organizing their home and business. However, professional organizers are not operating a house cleaning service. Instead, the goal is to help clients manage their time and space.
The start-up cost for a professional organizing business is small. The main expense will be spent in advertising your service. Intially, you may have to pay out-of-pocket for shelves, bins, and other storage equipment. However, the ultimate goal is to make a profit, and not spend the majority of your earnings on supplies. Hence, before quoting prices to clients, assess the space that needs organizing, determine what is needed to maintain order, and base price accordingly.
How to Price Your Service?
You have the option of operating a business that offers one-time organization help, repeat business, or both. All prices should be on a per hour basis, with a minimum hour requirement. Avoid establishing a flat fee. By doing so, you may bargain for more than you can handle. For example, some clients may require minimum organization. Hence, you can charge less. On the other hand, other projects may take several hours to complete. On average, professional organizers charge $35.00 to $100.00 an hour.
