As a mother myself, I have sought out much advice from other mothers. It wasn't easy believe me. What have I learned from these chosen participants? The questions I often asked seemed to receive laughs or odd stares. But I didn't care, my son is my main concern. What were the questions I asked?
How much medicine to give my son during an illness?
When to start him on baby food?
How to properly clean incisions?
Do I use baby oil after I give him a bath?
What is the proper techniques to raise a son with special needs?
Do I need to warm the formula each and every time?
These questions are often known as common sense knowledge. Many mothers who are more experienced than I, were nice at first. But they soon would giggle at any questions I had to ask in regards to motherhood. The advice seemed to be "stupid." I would rather feel "stupid" than be unprepared.
No question is stupid when it comes to parenting. I have grown to overcome those questions that seem to not only generate answers and laughs. I allow the laughter to roll off my back. In the end I laugh right along with them. Those may not seem laughing questions but trust me there are more where those came from.

Post a CommentI think it's great to ask other mothers for advice. I know I have. Even if it's common sense knowledge, someone else's outlook can help us think in more than one way. :-)
