Personalized Baby Onesies with Photos

When you are looking for a thoughtful gift for a baby, you must consider personalized baby clothes. Practically all of baby apparel can be personalized. You can get personalized onesies, t-shirts, bibs, blankets, etc. While having the baby's name or funny sayings printed on the clothes is a common way to personalize them, having your baby's photo printed on a piece of clothing makes the personalization more special and unique.

Onesies are favorites of moms due to their convenience and usefulness. You can order personalized photo onesies for $15-$20 per piece from many online stores, or you can make one yourself for $5-$8.

When you shop for personalized onsies, here is what you should know:

• Find out the quality of the cloth. Preferably choose organic cotton.

• Upload a digital photo with deep and bright colors that will stand out in the backdrop of the onesie.

• Your photo must have high resolution to get a good undistorted print on the onesie. If you have to convert your file format to provide the it as a JPEG, PNG or GIF file, use software that does not compress your photo.

• You can order supplemental prints of glow-in-the-dark pictures or words. Alternatively, you can have something embroidered on the onesie.

• Keep in mind that your order will take 1-3 weeks to ship. So order well in advance to get delivery on time.

Make your own personalized baby onesie using a plain onsesie, iron-on paper, inkjet printer and an iron.

• On your computer, flip the photo to get a mirror image.

• Print it on your inkjet computer with settings for maximum resolution and high quality printing.

• Using a firm and flat surface, place it face-down on the onesie and press it firmly and uniformly with a hot iron.

• The photo will transfer to the onesie.

• Add other iron-on prints like glow-in-the-dark pictures or wordings.

• Follow the laundry care instructions on the iron-on insert. Onsesies are washed often - if not cared for properly, the colors may fade or the photo may peel off.

You whole DIY project would cost only $8-10. You can buy iron-on paper for $4 and additional iron-on prints for $2 apiece. When you personalize it yourself, you can create a multitude of designs - you are limited only by your creativity and imagination. Besides, your personal touch makes the personalized clothing an invaluable gesture of love and care.
