Perspective Iraq: What is the US Mission?

What is the mission in Iraq. To attempt to stabilize a region of the world that wants to take over the rest of the world. Radical Islam wants to convert the rest of the world to Islam. Is this anything new? No, Spanish and other European Catholics wanted to convert the world to Catholicism. Was their killing of millions of Native Americans and other non-believers justified? No!

Is radical Islam tolerant of other religions? Yes, provided they do not try to spread the word of their religions. Only Islam can recruit new believers. If you are not of Islam, you are an infidel. Under radical Islamic rule you can have your beliefs as long as they die with you and your heirs.

If you are an enlighten individual, doubting your religious teaching, and searching for an area of compromise with Islam, will you be accepted by Islam? Yes, as long as you renounce everything you believe in to accept Islam.

Does this sound familiar? It should! It is a doctrine of intolerance. It is the way it is! There is a group in this world that believes they are right and only they are right. If I were writing about the KKK, I would be getting Kudos. If I were writing about the Nazi's I would be getting Kudos. But I am not. I am writing about radical Islam and an unpopular war.

Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are all people of the book. This means in Islamic terms that they all share a common ancestry and religious roots, Abraham. Islam is to respect the people of the book. That doesn't mean they believe in anything but Islam. But they are to acknowledge the other people of the book. Meaning they should acknowledge the rights of the other people of the book.

I am not an Islamic scholar, if you are tell me where I went wrong. Isn't that a call for tolerance? Is that not a call for understanding of the beliefs and rights of your ancestral kin?

For years now, well before 9/11, areas of radical Islam has called the US the great Satan. We have ignored their chants, until 9/11. After 9/11, do you not remember the worldwide coverage of the reactions from the rest of the world? The Philistines cheering and calling for the death of the USA, sorry they are Palestinians now. And all of the rest of the radical Islamic nations calling for death to America.

The US is a target. Not because we are right, not because we are wrong, because we are the last of the super powers. We are a perceived threat because we are who we are, the last super power.

So how do we have to respond? As real Americans. Not 2006 Americans, as the greatest generation of Americans. Remember all the stories you heard of your grand parents having to make do, having to sacrifice for the good of the country. All that silly crap that made America what it is today.

Over 470,000 American lives were lost in world war two. Almost ½ a million Americans gave their lives to defend the rights of foreigners. Lives lost to defend the lives of Jews, gypsies, homosexuals and others not consider suitable for society. I think we did the right thing.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt was the commander in chief at that time. Was he honest and forth coming with the nation at that time? No, he promised we were not going to get involved in a foreign war. All the while, he was helping our future allies and planning our involvement. Do I fault him? No way! It had to be done! FDR kept more from the American public than any other American president. More American rights were violated during WWII than at any time in our history.

Yes that includes today! Whether you believe it or not there is a real threat out there. While Iraq may not have had the right timing, we have been hated in that region of the world for a long time. Get as warm as fuzzy as you want, but there will be a problem in the Middle East that has to be dealt with. Helping Iraq become a sovereign nation free of civil conflict may be the best first step we can make. And the step resulting in the least loss of life.

Think of it this way. Had the US gotten involved in WWII in 1938, six million innocent lives could have been saved. Now as the last super power we are in a much more precarious situation. We have to set the example. In the civilized world that example is diplomacy. In the radical Islamic world that example is different.

So you think G.W Bush is the cause, review the world wide 9/11 video clips. Are all those cheering people really our kind of friends? Were they cheering because of Bush having egg on his face? No they were cheering because they have hated us for a long time. Since World War II and before. Remember Iran was a German ally in WWII. It ain't political, it is religious and it ain't good.

We in the US can separated church and state, in radical Islam the church is the state. That Radical Islamic state is out to destroy the United States and the rest of the infidel world. Why? Because they are confident they are the one true religion. Just like the Catholics during the Spanish Inquisition and the forced conversion of millions of Native Americans that resulted in millions of deaths.
