I gazed into the mirror
And beheld a big mistake:
A freak of fate,
A waste of time,
Someone hard to take.
I saw the hurt that I had caused
In other people's lives,
Words unleashed in anger
That sliced and stabbed like knives.

Jesus gazed upon me
And beheld one He adored.
He died for me upon a cross
To guide my life as Lord.
He saw a child of honor,
More valuable than gold,
Clothed in robes of righteousness,
A pleasure to behold.

My Father saw me covered
In the Blood of His sweet Son,
Buying my forgiveness
For the wrong that I had done.
He held me in His loving Arms.
He'll never let me go.
It's great to have a Father
Who will always love me so!
