Here I was, dressed in a housedress, no make-up on and my hair hanging down, walking down the street to my local grocery store with my two kids. One boy aged 8 Years old at that point and my daughter aged 12. My son was giving dirty looks to the passing cars, every time they honked. I personally thought they all needed glasses but eh, what can I say.
We had walked about 4 Blocks, when a car pulled in the Parking Lot in front of us. The Guy in the car was just sitting there, watching, starring. Talking about creepy, but that is nothing unusual in a big city either. When we were half past, the car pulled out and drove off. The kids and I looked at each other and shrugged, but I was on alert. Something about this car had bothered me. I guess when you live in a large City you get used to being put on alert, especially when you have kids with you.
A few Blocks further down the Road, the same guy pulled up real slowly next to us. He rolled down the Window and asked me for directions to a Business in the Neighborhood. I refused to step closer and pushed the kids behind me. Like I mentioned I had a bad feeling about this guy. I more or less screamed the information he requested and he pulled off, driving down the street in the direction I had provided to him. Once again the kids and I shared glances. We had made it to the store and soon while shopping forgot all about the strange behavior of the guy in the car. Yes, shopping can do this to a woman!
We must have been in the Store about 30 minutes and when we walked back home with our purchases, I had that creepy feeling again, my back prickly all over and my short hairs standing on end. I felt as if someone was watching us. We were half way home when I noticed that car again. I bend to my kids and told them to stay out of the way incase there was going to be trouble and be ready to run when I told them too. We didn't live in a bad Neighborhood, but there is no such thing as a real good neighborhood in Las Vegas anymore either.
The guy pulled over and blocked my way with his car. He leaned over to the passenger window and asked me clear as day how much I would charge him to give him a specific sexual service! Remember this guy did that on a busy street, in daylight, loud and clear with two children standing right there. I must have looked like a fish with my mouth opening and closing. I took a couple of steps towards him, as not to have to yell too loudly, just in case my kids had actually missed the question. How they could have, only the fates may know, but a mother can hope right? I took two steps when he decided to shift enough in the car to present me with the view of "private treasures" out and handeling them fondly. I looked at him with complete disgust and asked him, if he had by any chance noticed that I had kids with me. My tone of voice could have frozen a lava pit, but he didn't seem to mind that bit either. He answered without any remorse or for that fact hesitation at all, that why yes he had and that was no problem, they could watch. I guess the look in my face must have made him think better of the offer, because he suddenly pulled away with squeaking tires as I opened my purse.
I fully understand that in this World the lines between good and bad have become a bit blurry. I am not a brute by any means, I am a lifestyle slave and now even a Phone Fantasy Operator, but when my kids are around me all that is closed off, put away and only done in an age appropriate manner.
For example, my daughter (16) sees me kneeling to her Daddy (my Master) to take off his shoes, hold his coffee out and hears me address him as Master. Big difference in my books from what that person did.
I swear, that guy really did take the name Sin City a bit too literally. What worries me even further is the fact that there was no way to miss his bright sparkeling wedding band on his hand. I wonder what his poor wife must think. But before everyone goes of on man being pigs etc, let me assure you that woman have started acting just as badely in public. Just look at some of the stunts our dearly beloved Celebrities are doing.
Well, I guess there is a Moral to this Story. When you have kids with you, don't even respond to a car or a driver asking for directions here in Las Vegas. It might just be our friendly neighborhood pervert.
