Pet Foods Without Grains May Be a Better Choice for a Healthy Pet

Pet Owners Question What is in the Products They Feed Their Pets

Pat Anthony
Pet foods promoted as being the best choices to keep a family pet healthy are not always what pet owners think they are buying. Like the food advertised for humans, consumers must be aware of ingredients in pet foods as well.

Many people feel having a pet is important for their health. People with pets often look for the best pet food they can fit into their budget hoping to keep the pet healthy. Researching pet food ingredients may shock most consumers.

Many pet foods, including assorted top brands for dogs and cats, contain corn as one of the main ingredients. One might question why their cat or dog would want corn. If living in the wild, would a cat or dog look for corn when hungry? However, even more may question why they are paying a high price for something that is basically an inexpensive grain.

Some information about choices that may help keep pets healthy claim grains, such as corn, are not needed by dogs or cats. Pet owners may want to research this subject to be sure they are buying what is needed by their pet.

There are many humans and pets living without grains of any sort in their diet because of health concerns. This does not mean grains are harmful to every pet or every human.

Some pets and humans are healthier without grains on the menu for various reasons. Pet owners are correct to question why there is so much corn or other products in their pet food when they believe animal protein is needed.

If making a switch in pet food, speak with a veterinarian to be sure a switch is needed. Some veterinarians will offer suggestions for pet foods that will meet the needs of a family pet.

When deciding to leave the grains behind when shopping for pet food, many choices will be found. Typically a store that exists to pamper your pooch or coddle your cat will have something that is perfect for keeping your pet healthy.

Good article. Anybody, including animals, that eats something as a steady diet can develop an allergy to it! Sorry I don't often have time to come around and comment.

Great information about pet foods...it does seem strange that an inexpensive grain should hike the prices up on pet foods. Thanks for sharing!
