The Human Animal Bond Trust Pet Loss Support Group: The Human Animal Bond Trust is a non-profit organization that recognizes how difficult losing a companion pet is. The organization does not charge any fee for attending the group, but does request you bring a picture of your pet if it is possible. The group is open to individuals who have lost a pet or are anticipating the loss of a companion.
The group meets every Thursday from 6:30-8pm in the boardroom on the second floor of the Denver Area Veterinary Medical Society Office, which is located at 191 Yuma Street. You may use the northeast entrance of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Foundation - Harrison Center for Animals - when attending. Pet Loss Support Group in Colorado Springs: Sara Sugerman has been practicing therapy since 1994 with individuals, families, and couples. She has completed a Masters in Social Work as well as a Masters in Human Development and Family Studies. She has facilitated a pet loss support group in the Colorado Springs area for 12 years, and does not charge a fee for anyone to attend. The Friendship Connection: The Friendship Connection is another pet loss support group in Colorado. This is an open group intended for women and men who have experienced a loss in their lives, including the loss of a companion pet. The group meets every first and third Thursday of the month for a support meeting and every second Thursday of the month for game night and a chance to socialize. The group meets from 6-7pm, and anyone from the community can attend. While the group requests a $5 donation per session, if you cannot afford it, you can come and give what you can.
