Pet Product Review: Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance Roll-A-Rounds Lamb Treats

My smallest and youngest dog has been a picky eater all of his life unfortunately . He is just very selective on what he decides to eat which is not the case with our other dog, I'm happy to say. When our youngest dog happens to come across a particular brand of dog food that he actually likes, I make sure to stock up on it immediately as you'll see with these treats.

I've been extremely familiar with the Natural Balance line by the actor Dick Van Patten. I've always been satisfied with the high quality dog food that he provides. His extensive line of animal food contains minerals and vitamins needed by your pet excluding the junk that other brand name companies (who shall remain nameless) put in their pet food. Their aim is to put out products that are healthy for your animals meaning no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. They also do NOT have any BHT or BHA along with ethoxyquin which has been associated with liver and kidney damage as well as stomach cancer.

In the past, I've given my dogs, Dick Van Patten's Dog Food Rolls which they both loved. Recently while I was at a pet store, I came across Natural Balance's Roll-A-Rounds Lamb Treats. They looked strangely familiar to the food rolls only these were cut up and baked. I decided to pick up a small bag of only 2 oz. in the event my dogs decided they weren't interested in them. Well to my surprise, my older dog didn't want to have anything to do with them but as she has grown older, she doesn't like anything that she has to crunch. My younger dog loves crunchy treats and was immediately hooked on them.

I had to go back to PETCO and buy a large bag of 8 oz. He finished that in about a week and yesterday, I purchased two more large bags. The Roll-A-Rounds are an excellent healthy treat for any dog out there. They do not contain any soy or corn. The treats do contain whole ground flaxseed, lecithin as well as kelp. Protein is at 18% which includes parts of the lamb such as the heart, kidneys and lungs. My one small complaint is that they currently only come in the lamb flavor while the food rolls come in lamb, beef and turkey. I'm sure they will incorporate other flavors in the future. The 2 oz bag is less than 2 dollars while the larger bag is under 7 dollars. It is a slightly on the high side but it is a small price to pay for your dog's health.
