Dutchman Alistair Overeem TKO'd fellow countrymen Peter Aerts to become the first MMA champion to also be crowned the K-1 World Grand Prix champion.

Overeem defeated Aerts easily, overwhelming Aerts who had suffered some serious blows earlier in the night in his battle with 2009 Grand Prix champion Semmy Schilt.

Overeem dominated Aerts from the opening, bull rushing out of the gate and steam rolling Aerts. Overeem used crushing head and body shots to put Aerts on the canvas and stop the fight.

The bout was held in japan and Overeem showed the audience his appreciation.
