I have tried magnesium pills before and didn't even know a powdered version existed. At the price of the powdered version compared to the pills I never would have purchased the powder blindly.
It just so happened that the day I received my order with the sample it was a stressful and rather anxious day. I was reading the package of the Natural Calm and notice it called itself "The Anti-Stress Drink." That sounded right up my ally.
You have to use hot water to get it to activate and dissolve. It is actually kind of fun because the second the hot water hit's the magnesium it fizzes. Even though the Natural Calm I had wasn't flavored, the taste is almost kind of citrus, almost lemon citrus. The taste is very tolerable and it is very easy to drink. You only need an ounce of hot water, so I just drink kind of like a shot or sip it slowly.
Right after I took it I felt calm and relaxed. I really did. I was surprised. I was immediately impressed. I have never been all that impressed with magnesium pills. I figure that the fact that it is a powder it absorbs better and faster. After feeling the effects so quickly and so effectively I added Peter Gillham's Natural Calm Anti-Stress Drink to my next vitamin order.
When I receive the actual paid for version I was impressed that the container was larger than I expected. It cost me about $22 but it says it is an 8 - 12 week supply. So far I've gotten a lot more out of it, but I don't take it daily or at the highest dose.
I don't take this as a magnesium supplement. I take it as a anti-stress drink and only take it as I need it. The serving size varies from less than 1 teaspoon to more than 3 teaspoons. Be careful not to start off on the highest does because too much magnesium has almost laxative effect and will cause loose stools. You have to work you way up to the maximum. I personally stay at the lower end all the time because it works for me.
I really like the Natural Calm Anti-Stress Drink. For me it does work as a de-stressing supplement. I have recommended it to several people I know and even offered them some when they are here. The price seems like a big investment but you really get a lot. I recommend anyone who wants a highly absorbable magnesium supplement or any one who needs a calming drink supplement to give it a try.
