I can only smile
Your laughing eyes
And smiling face
Bring joy to my heart.
When I think of you
I am reminded
Of the peace and joy
That comes
From deep
Within my heart
When I think of you
I think of the beautiful
Sunset of the ocean
And the peace
That it brings
To my soul
When I think of you
I think of music
And laughter
And the joy
That you bring to my heart
When I think of you
I think of the love
That comes from having
A special friend
A friend like you
A friend who brings
Joy to my heart
Peach to my soul
And laughter to my eyes
When I think of you.
Author's note: Shortly after I gave this poem to Peter he died after being hit by a car. We knew each other for a very short time, but he has left a lasting impression on me, an empty space in my heart, and some fun memories.
