On our last day in Blue Ridge, Georgia we ran around picking up all the goodies that we wanted to take home, such as cake and bagels from Meyer's German Bakery. We had eaten at several really good restaurants during our stay, including Christy Lee's . We couldn't decide if we should repeat one or try something new for our last dinner in Blue Ridge. We opted for the new restaurant, Pete's Place.
Pete's Place is easy to get to, right off of Highway 515 in Blue Ridge. We got there early and there were many folks already enjoying dinner. We were led to a table by the hostess and then our server, Amanda, greeted us. We ordered our drinks and Amanda gave us some time to review the menu.
Since Prime Rib is a favorite of mine, and it is hard to come by where we live, I order it whenever I find it on the menu. The Prime Rib at Pete's Place was $17.95 for a 10-12 oz. slice. My husband went with a 12 oz Hamburger Steak at $10.95. With the dinner you get a choice of baked potato, fries, rice or vegetable of the day, along with a house salad. We both chose the baked potato and house salad.
I always ask for extra lemon for my sweet tea, and Amanda provided me with sufficient lemon. We enjoyed our salads, as we watched the restaurant fill with the dinner crowd. You could tell that Pete's Place was new; everything was freshly painted and very clean. It was nicely decorated and it was very comfortable.
When our dinners were brought out I was quite surprised at the Prime Rib. It was cooked exactly as I ordered it, medium. There was a light hint of onion in the au jus. It was delicious and I was very happy with it. My husband's Hamburger Steak was very large and cooked perfectly also. The salads were fresh and crisp and the baked potatoes were hot and the butter melted easily.
Amanda checked back with us several times. She refilled my sweet tea and cleared the dishes as necessary. They seemed to have a rather large staff and they were all friendly and outgoing.
I took a few photos after we dug into our meals. I was so into the food and the surroundings that I forgot I had my camera with me until it was almost too late. There is no website that I could find, but you can check out their Facebook page for more information and photos.
When we paid the check I asked the hostess why the menu says "est. 2010" at the top, but at the bottom it says "A Family Tradition since 1972". She explained that the family owned a local restaurant since 1972 but sold it a few years ago. Pete's Place is owned by the son of that family, so he has the restaurant business running through his veins.
You will notice a touch of a Greek theme running through the menu with such items as the Greek appetizer Spanakopita. You can also get Calamari or Mozzarella Sticks. Entrées include chicken, rib eye steak, and a large selection of seafood items. All entrées are well priced. If you have room, finish your meal with a slice of Godiva® Double Chocolate Cheesecake for $3.75.
I know that on our next trip to Blue Ridge, Georgia that Pete's Place will be on our list of restaurants. I hope they will have the same great service and excellent food, I don't see why they won't. Pete's Place, a must see in Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Oh no, why is this place so far away from me? I've got a horrible need for a good big piece of prime rib right now.. and it's only 10.30am!
