Petition to Save All My Children
If you are a fan of daytime soap operas, you know that the daytime shows All My Children and One Life To Live have been cancelled by ABC. All My Children will go off the air in September 2011 and One Live To Live in January 2012.

It is doubtful that this petition to save All My Children will be successful. Networks usually do not change their minds once decisions to cancel a show have been made regardless of petitions or letters from fans. CBS stood by their decisions to cancel their soap operas Guiding Light in 2009 and As The World Turns in 2010, even after receiving thousands of letters and petitions.
However, sometimes networks do change their mind about show cancellations. In the late sixties, NBC had originally decided to cancel the original Star Trek series after two seasons, but revoked their decision after receiving thousands of letters from Star Trek fans.
So perhaps after ABC reviews the Facebook petition to save All My Children and the thousands of other letters and petitions from fans of soap operas, there is a slim chance that ABC will rescind their decision to cancel All My Children as well.

I think there should be more power to the people than the sponsors who perhaps had the greatest pull in having this show canceled. Great work...yes, power to the people.
