I can honestly say that the Petmate Hooded Cat Bed is better during the fall and winter seasons over spring and summer. It allows you to keep their older bed for days or nights your cat wants to rest outdoors. With the back of the Petmate Hooded Cat Bed being so high, it holds the body heat from your cat possibly causing your cat to be too warm at times. A cat rarely gets cold because of their fur coats and that is something you should pay attention to in the summer. Sometimes the outdoors can be cooler than your cat's bed.
Even though the Petmate Hooded Cat Bed may be warmer than their old bed, it has more room for them to stretch out on instead of being balled up while resting. That provides your cat the access to get more air through their pores to get a healthier looking coat of fur. While they stretch out across the Petmate Hooded Cat Bed, cats also develop a better bone structure as they sleep across it for long periods of time. If they switch back and forth between two beds, it will not be one of the benefits of using this bed.
Overall, the Petmate Hooded Cat Bed is more of a gain than a loss. Even if you and your cat prefer not to use it for the healthy benefits it offers, it is still a good main or extra bed to have for your pet. When you have company in your home the Petmate Hooded Cat Bed will always get their attention. They will think you are spoiling your cat because of how elegant it looks and its overall presence versus all the other old cat beds that have been around for years with that same old style unless you have added your own style to it.
