These pigs are about the size of a small kitten when they are born. When they are milking from the mother they stand about six inches high. These pigs are not even as big as your average pot bellied pig. If you can find a place which sells miniature pigs, first make sure that the place is indeed legit. You don't want to buy a pig and then find out it will get to be over two hundred pounds. Make sure that you have references or some way of knowing that this pig will not end up very large and in a huge pen in the backyard.
You might have a problem keeping the pig if you live in the city limits. These animals are known to be farm animals. Your state might allow you to keep the pig if they knew how big the pig gets. This pig will not even reach the size of a pot bellied pig. If you need to get a permit to have this pet, you should do so before you end up getting the pig confiscated and end up with no pig and one large fine.
Miniature pigs can be anywhere from fifteen pounds up to sixty pounds depending on how well you feed the pig and how much you feed the pig. It will also depend a lot on exercise. Pigs are very sweet and well natured animals. They are not as messy as you might think and they can be taught to use a litter box very easily. You can also purchase a miniature pig that already uses the litter box.
These pigs usually will eat any type of vegetable or fruit. Pigs are known for liking apples, grapes, oranges and other types of fruit. You will also need to give the pig vitamins.
