Petsmart Coming to Wichita Falls

Pet owners rejoice! We will soon have another choice when it comes to pet-friendly stores in Wichita Falls! For those of you who love taking your dog out for a stroll at the pet store to meet other doggies and sample yummy treats, for anyone who wants high quality pet foods and supplies that the grocery stores don't offer, or for anyone who wishes to acquire a new friend in the form of fish or fowl, this is great news! As many of you know, and as some may not know, the current establishment, which shall remain unnamed, is not always friendly on the wallet. Some would also say that they do not offer some of the services that a large pet store chain should offer. But Petsmart does! I know because I have lived in a town that has one. I am personally very excited about the opening of one here in our town, and I think it is long overdue.

Now, this is a side note just to prove what merely one person has the potential to do. I cannot help but wonder if I had a hand in getting the store to come here. A little over a year ago, we had just gotten a new dog and shopped at the only choice we had in this town for a pet-friendly store. I thought back on my experiences with Petsmart and realized that I missed it, they were less expensive and had a better selection. So one day I decided to call the Petsmart corporate office as well as email everyone I could find from their website and tell them this. I told them that they are better than our current options, and it would do very well here in this growing little city. I was told on the phone that the real estate office would be notified. And lo and behold, about ten months or so later I heard that, indeed, a Petsmart was in the groundbreaking stages. Now I realize that I cannot, and should not, take full credit for this. But what if my calls and emails got the ball rolling? They had no intention of bringing a Petsmart here when I talked to them. I just wanted to share that as inspiration that you just never know what you could do or who you could influence if you just try!
