PF Chang's in Downtown San Jose, California: A Review

Last night I had the privilege of choosing any place for dinner to celebrate my graduation. For some reason I had a craving for Kung Pao Chicken so I chose PF Chang's China Bistro.

When our party of six arrived it was some time near seven. We were placed on the list, given a pager, and told that it was going to be an hour wait. We really only waited for twenty minutes before we were seated. The place was packed and I don't think that there was an empty seat anywhere, even at the bar. Our waiter was funny, polite, and very friendly. He took his time with us even though the place was packed. Our glasses were never empty and our requests were always fulfilled quickly.

Our party ordered Kung Pao Chicken, Orange Peel Chicken, Chang's Spicy Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Almond and Cashew Chicken, and Chicken Lo Mein. Since everyone decided to share, I got a nice sampler of what the menu has to offer. There was not a single bite that was close to mediocre; it was all amazing. Even though I had the taste for Kung Pao, I fell in love with Chang's Spicy Chicken because it has a sweet flavor to compliment the spicy bite. It was as if the chicken was dancing on my tongue. Every dish was smothered in its respective sauce which was useful for topping the endless bowls of rice. Only my friend's girlfriend (who always complains about weight) had a plate with food left on it (2 bites that would have turned her into an elephant). Aside from the food the menu also has an nice drink list with some twists on popular favorites. Each plate was about $13 which seems to be the average price of a plate. Check the menu out yourself at the PF Chang's website.

In all, PF Chang's deserves a 7/10. The restaurant would have gotten an 8/10 cause the food and service are awesome but I think that their menu is a little too pricey.
