PGA Super Star Tiger Woods Ahead of Schedule with Rehabbing Knee
One of Golf's Greatest is Already Swing Clubs Again
Tiger's plan was to start hitting balls in January, but the young golfer has confessed that he has already been chipping and putting, though he gives no time table for his return. "I haven't hit full shots with my entire bag yet," Woods said. "As far as coming back, I don't know. I don't know how it's going to respond with repeated practice days and long days of practice trying to get back, and ultimately playing my way into shape. That's obviously going to take a little bit of time." Still it is amazing to think that just six months into what was thought to be a rather lengthy rehabilitation, Woods is already on his way to coming back to the Tour and he thinks he will be better than ever (source: espn.com).
"Right now, it feels great to have that stability in the leg," he said. "It feels stronger, more stable. It's not sliding all over the place. My bones aren't moving. Things that I was dealing with, I don't feel that anymore. I'm actually stronger in my legs than I think I've ever been." If Tiger Woods does come back better than he ever was, than that doesn't leave a whole lot of hope for the rest of the Tour. Tiger was already the dominating force in golf week in and week out and just think he was doing it on a bum knee. How good is he?
Ay 33 (almost) Woods already has 14 PGA Major victories and 65 PGA Tour wins. He is closing in on the great Jack Nicklaus as far as Majors (Nicklaus has 18) go and if you ask Tiger that is the only record he cares about. But it has been Wood's shear desire to win at the game of golf that has shown just how good he really is. In the U.S Open last year at the famous Torrey Pines, Woods went an extra round in a playoff with Rocco Mediate that saw the two golfers go toe to toe and the win did not get settled until a 19th hole tap in for par gave Woods the victory. Sounds like just another typical Tiger Woods story doesn't it? Well this time Tiger Woods played better than the field and he did it with a totally torn ligament and a double stress fracture in his leg (source: espn.com).
PGA beware; Tiger is on the prowl and once again on a mission and ahead of schedule with his rehabbing knee. He feels better than he ever has in his career and his confidence is high. Like it or not, Tiger Woods will return some time next year and when he does the rest of the field will probably be playing for second.
