During the festive season of Halloween, many people follow tradition of visiting haunted houses. Some prove to be a rip off. Some entail waiting hours in line, paying as much as you would for a meal in a nice restaurant, only to find that all the time and money wasted supplied ten minutes of entertainment. Finally, there is a haunted attraction that provides more bang for your buck. Phantom Fright nights, also known as Haunted Kennywood, provides hours upon hours of entertainment for those who are thirteen and older. This traditional landmark, also known as the famous Pittsburgh amusement park, is located in the Pittsburgh area, in Homestead, PA.

Kennywood, which is a well known amusement park in the Pittsburgh area, has claimed a tradition of being one of the greatest local attractions by opening up the park during the Halloween season and creating a frightening attraction within the park. Although $24.99 may seem a bit costly to visit a haunted attraction, the money spent will provide hours upon hours of fright and fun. Not only is the park converted into several different haunted attractions, but several of the rollercoasters and a few rides are open to the public, as well.

Just the feeling when you walk into Haunted Kennywood would scare quite a few people away. Everything that was once surrounded with bright lights in the park, is replaced with fog and barely noticeable black lights. It is definitely not the cheery place you remember during Kennywood's regular season. Every step you take in the park should be taken with caution. You never know when or where you could be taken by surprise, or by a scare, from one of the park's ghouls or ghosts.

Just like most haunted attractions, the lines within the park to get into one of the many haunted houses or attractions can be lengthy. One thing that seperates Haunted Kennywood from the rest is that despite being a haunted attraction, you have food and drink vendors all around. If you feel your toes freezing up, chances are there is a hot chocolate stand within walking distance. If you missed dinner, there are food vendors all around serving up anything from hot sausage sandwiches to Kennywood's famous potato patch fries. This makes the wait less frustrating and barely noticeable. Even if you need a break from fear of the unknown, you can travel around the park and jump on one of the thrilling roller coaster rides. Be warned however, that even waiting in line for the amusement rides may provide a scare or two from some unwanted monster sneaking up behind you!

Fright Nights at Kennywood Park is one of the best ways to entertain a person for a full evening of fun. Instead of wasting an hour or two waiting in line for a dinky haunted house in the middle of nowhere, Kennywood provides fright, fun, and food for everyone. Each year, the park continues to re-invent themselves by adding more attractions, and each year, Fright Nights hangs on to the honor and tradition of being the best haunted attraction in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. It is meant for those young and scared at heart, as well as for those who are older and looking for something new and different to experience.
