The three day celebration of fashion, food, arts and culture will include runway shows contemporary couture designers sold in Philadelphia and student designers enrolled in the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Philadelphia University, Moore College of Art & Design. A very exciting moment for local fashionistas; Philadelphia becomes another city to host its own fashion show.
Designers featured in the Philadelphia Fashion Week
"Philadelphia Fashion Week is committed to supporting designers sold in our city," said Michael Anderer, creative director of Philadelphia Fashion Week, partner of CMK Entertainment and head buyer for Matthew Izzo. "There will be runway shows of local designers like Commonwealth Proper, but because we wanted this event to be accessible for everyone-designers and guests-we opened up the criteria to any designer based or sold in our city." The designers featured in the Philadelphia Fashion Week provide a unique blend of assorted fashion.
The Fashion week showcases the innovation of Donwan Harrel, the co-director of 9days, who focuses on producing bold, well-designed fashions that are both classically cool yet effortlessly modern. Denim is the cornerstone of Harrell's designs, The Brooklyn Royalty, an NYC apparel line that combines timeless design, premium fabrics and hand-printed designs, the progressive team of diverse young designers of New York's GAR-DE and SAVA , the locally made groundbreaking clothing and accessories to name a few.
Also included is Street Star Custom Clothing who creates signature clothing that melds together a combination of Hip Hop, Rock, Glam, Punk and Rock & Roll and applies those ideas in a distinctive way to put a couture twist on mainstream street wear. Street Star is hand crafted and embellished with Genuine Swarovski crystals. No two pieces are alike, as each stone and design is hand placed.
Other Philadelphia based designers include Common Wealth Proper, Delicious and Strangefruit.

Doors will open at 4pm for guests 21 and older.

5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Best of student designers
6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Street wear designers
8:00 p.m.- Headlining concert
9:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Contemporary couture designers
Expect the unexpected! Designers can opt to mix their Holiday 2009 collection with some key look projections from their Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
