Philips Magnavox 13" TV with Built-In DVD Player, MWC13D6
Magnavox Should Make Vacuum Cleaners--THEY SUCK!
I was under the mistaken impression that what I was purchasing was a television/DVD player combo. I had no idea that I was buying a vacuum cleaner--IT REALLY SUCKED!!! I must say, I was clueless. There were no flies buzzing around this product-SO HOW COULD I HAVE KNOWN THAT IT WAS A PIECE OF CRAP!!!
It was manufactured by Magnavox a name that used to stand for quality-NOW IT STANDS FOR BAT DUNG IN A COLD DARK CAVE!!!! I wanted to watch TV and watch DVD's. As a result of my boob-tube addiction, I made a bad score-and had a very bad trip. I have been in boob-tube rehab ever since.
Why Does It SUCK?!
When I finally opened the box to my Magnavox TV/DVD combo, I couldn't wait to try out my Jamie Kennedy Experiment DVD. I opened the DVD tray. It was made of cheap plastic. The plastic was no doubt made from the bat dung I mentioned earlier.
I popped the DVD in. So far so good. I wasn't worried. After all-this was a "Magnavox!" The picture and sound was good so far. Jamie Kennedy was making me laugh. I was having fun-FOR ABOUT TEN FREAKIN' MINUTES!!! After about ten minutes, the picture went out. WELCOME TO THE JAMIE KENNEDY RADIO SHOW!!!
Then it hit me. Maybe I am on a hidden camera show? After all,, Magnavox could not really be this bad, could it? Yes it could-I looked for hidden cameras and there were none. It was right then that I hit rock bottom. But before I returned this wanna-be vacuum cleaner back to the store, I thought I would try contacting Magnavox customer service and tech support.
You never know. The people at their tech support might speak English, and be able to tell me why the picture went out, and how to fix it. So I looked for their number and email address in the instruction manual that was written in 10 FREAKIN' LANGUAGES! "Oh, how nice. Hear is the English section." I thought to myself, after parsing through nine other languages.
I found their email address. I went to the web site and clicked it-the email link was not hot. CRAP!!! So I tried calling their toll-free number. *** After being on hold for AN HOUR OF MY FRIGGIN' VALUABLE TIME, I hung up.
"Back in the box, back to the store you go." I said. "Now where is the receipt? SON OF A......!!!!"
Some Good News
Fortunately, I bought this wanna-be vacuum cleaner with my credit card. When I received my credit card statement, I was able to prove my purchase, and return the wanna-be Magnavox vacuum. I say "wanna-be" because IT DOESN'T EVEN SUCK DIRT THAT WELL!!!
Final Thoughts
I absolutely hated the fact that the picture tube did not work in this TV/DVD player. I am really disappointed with Magnavox's lack of customer service. However, I liked the fact that I could return it to the store I bought it from, and that my money was fully refunded.

Post a CommentThat piece of crap Magnavox was actually a Funai !! They jus borrowed the Magnavox name to fool you because you or your parents or granparents had a Magnavox TV that lasted for 20 years or more.

David, that was some store--ee! LOL!
A neighbor of mine had the same problem and he couldn't get the DVD out. He took it back to the store and they tried the unit out. The DVD started to play and the neighbor was so embarrassed - the DVD was "Fabricio frollicks in France." The store had some kind of hookup and that DVD appeared on 300 units on the floor. My neighbor was so embarrassed. Lesson to be learned - always take the damn DVD out before returning the unit to the store.
Hi Melissa, I am glad you could finally read this review. It is my honest, unfettered opinion of Magnavox--EPS did not appreciate that fact.
lol. Yeah they let you return it, only to put it back on the shelves... waiting for another victim. Target is known to do this, and eww victoria secret allows people to give back thongs... they were caught by the news, Im sure you heard the story. They put the used panties back into a pile to re-sell. HOW NASTY IS THAT SHI-
