Phillip Garrido: How Could Someone like Him Go Unnoticed?
Let's Look at the People Who Knew Garrido and His Family
We'll look at each of the people in this story and break it down. It's hard to believe that with all the missing and murdered female people in his area, he was over looked as a suspect.
Christine Murphy (Phillip Garrido's 1st wife)
1. She eloped with Phillip Garrido in 1973 (sound as if they were in a hurry to get married) She had fallen in love with him at high school and knew he was accused of raping a teenage girl.
2. She states that not long after they were married he turned violent.
3. She states that he would take LSD or smoke marijuana every day. He would flew into a rage when she told him she did not want to have sex with multiple partners but her most terrifying encounter with her husband came after he saw another man flirting with her. "He took a safety pin and went after my eyes," she said. "He tried to gouge my eyes out with it."
4. The first time she tried to run away, he pulled up his car in front of her and dragged her inside.
5. She finally escaped him only when he was convicted of kidnapping and rape of Katie Callaway Hall and sentenced to 50 years.
Katie Callaway Hall (November 22nd 1976)
1. Hall's ordeal began when she gave Garrido a ride in her car. He overpowered her, took her to a warehouse, and raped her for eight hours before a police officer, Clifford Conrad, happened by.
2. The warehouse was furnished with rugs on the floors and walls, adult magazines, sex toys, wine, hot water, and a spotlight. (He had planned to rape some one.)
Cheyvonne Molino (husband: James) (AKA: Bella Molino and Sunshine Molino)
1. She and her husband owns J&M Auto Salvage on Willow Pass road
2. On Jan. 6, 1999, the body of Valerie Dawn "China" Schultz, 27, was discovered in a ditch along a barren stretch of Willow Pass Road near the Pittsburg-Bay Point border. Some say her body was found impaled on a fence at J&M Auto Wreckers.
3. She has been doing business for over a decade.
4. She has met the entire family, including Jaycee Lee Dugard. "I met his daughters, I watched them grow up... We got to see them more and more over the summertime, three or four times a week."
Molino had invited the Garrido daughters to her own daughter's birthday party last month. She said Garrido dropped them off and they stayed from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Molino said that they acted like normal kids.
5. Molino told CBS affiliate KPIX San Francisco that she had been in the Garrido home and backyard and saw nothing suspicious. If you have seen the photos of the inside of the Garrido house, you cannot help but notice that it was a total mess.
6. Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee told CBS affiliate KPIX San Francisco that Jim Molino was on probation weapons violation so deputies could search his three properties without a warrant.
7. Authorities raided three properties owned by Molino and her husband, Jim. Molino says they took DVDs, VHS tapes, and a laptop in search of child pornography connected to Garrido's case.
The Garrido Family
Garrido's father, Manuel Garrido, has described his son as being "absolutely out of his mind" and believes him to be capable or murder.
Patricia Garrido, Phillip Garrido's mother
AKA, Patricia Lucille Franzen, is the owner of the 3 bed room, 1 bath house in Antioch, northern California. She had dementia for the last six years and had been living at the house she shared with her son and his wife.
Ron Garrido, Phillip Garrido brother, described his sister-in-law, as a 'robot' and stated that she was under Phillip Garrido's control. He compared Phillip Garrido to the serial killer Charles Manson.
Nancy Garrido (2nd Wife, maiden might be "Boconegra".)
She met Garrido while she visited her uncle who was also a prisoner at Leavenworth. Nancy was a member of the Jehova's Witnesses at the time. Public records showed that they married in October 1981. This was seven years before Phillip would be released from prison. In January 1988, Phillip Garrido was transferred to the Nevada state prison system. August 1988, Garrido was back on the street.
In 1991, about 3 years after his released from prison, the Garridos allegedly abducted Dugard and took her to their home in Antioch. Nancy was the one who "pulled" Dugard into the car. Dugard's stepfather Carl Probyn said Nancy Garrido fit the description "dead-on" of the woman who pulled his stepdaughter into a car in South Lake Tahoe nearly two decades ago.
For four months in 1993, Phillip Garrido was in jail, for breaking the terms of his parole.
The couple returned to Contra Costa County in California, where Phillip Garrido was raised. Nancy Garrido became a certified nurse assistant in 1989, according to California Department of Public Health records. Her certification expired in 1995 when she failed to renew it. Department spokesman Ken August said the state does not track where nursing assistant work.
In 1994, Dugard had been the Garrido's captive for more than three years when Nancy Garrido sought a job as a Certified Nurses Aid at Contra Costa ARC, a nonprofit nursing provider.
Certified Nurses Aids, or CNAs, perform basic chores, such as emptying bedpans and changing linens. They can give, but can't prescribe, many types of medication. The 120-hours of mandatory classroom and clinical study doesn't include childbirth training.
Barbara Maizie, the agency's executive director, said Nancy Garrido was well qualified for such work. The applicant had an outstanding resume dating back to 1981, with very good recommendations. She also held a valid license and passed a state-mandated background check. She was hired.
Nancy Garrido became a popular figure during her time at Contra Costa ARC, from December 1994 through March 1998. She had a following of disabled adults she helped care for.
"She was a good employee and was well liked by the people we support," Maizie said, "This certainly does make this very hard to comprehend."
Nursing assistants are on a low rung of the medical profession and cannot work without the supervision of a doctor or nurse. But Nancy Garrido's training might help explain how Dugard could deliver two babies and now have two healthy daughters, ages 11 and 15, even though authorities said none of them had seen a doctor.
People Who Knew the Garrido's
Next-door neighbor Helen Boyer, 78, said she knew Phillip Garrido's mother for more than 30 years and often saw Nancy Garrido. Boyer said Garrido had worked in nursing homes for years but stopped about five years ago to become Franzen's primary caregiver when she became bedridden.
A customer of Garrido's printing shop, Tim Allen, said Garrido had a box through which he claimed God spoke to him. "You never thought anything bad about the guy. He was just kind of nutty," said Mr. Allen.

Phillip Garrido had a blogger.com blog (click here)
This blog is mostly about his so-called ability to speak without using his voice. He even had some of his 'acquaintances' make sworn notarized testimonials about this 'power'. There are other posts that are religious ramblings as if he is 'in touch' with God.
Why didn't people look the other way and not do something about Phillip Garrido?
"They just didn't view Mr. Garrido as that serious a threat, because he had been on parole a long time," Jonathan Simon, a law professor with the University of California Law School at Berkeley, said. "He was living with his wife, he was fully employed."
If hard to believe but there are over 100 sex offenders that have the same zip code as the Garrido's. Many of you might have seen the long list of missing and murdered children and young woman in that area. Right now it is hard to believe that Garrido had anything to do with all of them but knowing his M.O. there is a good chance that he did. One thing is for sure, with all the sex offenders in that area, I would not want to bring my child there.

Post a CommentI really fell sorry for Dugard and her kids. Who knows how many people were really in on this. This Cheyvonne Molino is one for the books. Never heard so much BS. Bet they were in on this. There should be a way to let people know right away that someone is a sex offender, like make them wear an arm band so the common can see. Don't let them drive so they can not get to their next victim. Put some kind of mark on their door. Anything so we can keep our selves safe.
Well, I still wonder about if Phillip Garrido had sex with his own daughters. I would not put it pass him. At this point, do those poor little girls know what a sex offender is? I am willing to put money down that Cheyvonne Molino is hiding something. Time will tell the whole story. We just have to wait and let the Dugard family sort thing out. I am sure that they are getting a lot of help in what to do.
I didn't know that Nancy Garrido became a certified nurse assistant. So that who was playing doctor to Jaycee Dugard and her children.
This Cheyvonne Molino is a real winner too.I saw pix of her sitting on a hood of a car with her legs spread like a real slut. You are right about how could she not notice what was happening if she knew the family so well. Bet she was in on it. I did hear something about the body on one of the missing girls being found near that junk yard of her's. Also hear that she let Garrido do some of his preaching in front of her place. As for the child pornography, bet she dose have something to do with that.
As for the other sex offenders in that area, you would think that the law would keep a closer eye on them and Garrido. Look at all the missing and dead people in and round that town. What are they trying to do, set the world's records? Someone should look into to that.
How could they over look all of this?
