Philosophy and Pinnacle Spa Beauty Products - Which One Performs Better and is the Best Buy?

Aimee E
When shopping for beauty products, many people are aware of Philosophy, however, Pinnacle Spa, which is relatively unknown, is a true competitor to Philosophy. Philosophy products are marketed heavily on the nationwide shopping channel QVC as one of their main beauty staples. They also can be found on merchant sites such as Amazon and Philosophy.com. The one thing that Philosophy has which makes it different from its competitors is fragrance variety. While bath scrub products are not all that unique, Philosophy takes a spin on the ordinary product and turns it up a notch by offering fragrance varieties like gingerbread, cinnamon buns, carrot cake, butter cream frosting, and pumpkin pie. They also have fragrance, hand and body lotions, a multi-purpose bubble bath/shower gel/shampoo, and makeup. Philosophy's website is well-designed and easily accessible. All orders for Philosophy products placed on the company's website are eligible for free samples of other Philosophy products, which adds to the appeal of the site.

Pinnacle, on the other hand is a close competitor to Philosophy. Many of their products, such as the three piece gingerbread travel kit look almost the same as Philosophy's products. While Pinnacle does not offer as many different fragrance varieties as Philosophy, the one thing they do have a hold on is price. Pinnacle products are priced lower than Philosophy and are of the same fragrance quality. Unfortunately, Pinnacle does not have its own online website, and customers desiring to order Pinnacle products must use retailers like bebeautiful.com and Amazon.com. Some of the most popular fragrances Pinnacle offers include gingerbread, candy cane, and apple cider, and these are sold as shower gel, body lotion, and lip gloss on distributor's website. While not advertised, I placed an order on bebeautiful.com and was also given some samples of another product.

In the end, depending on which product line you would like to go with is a personal decision. If you are unsure if you would like a particular type of fragrance, Pinnacle would be the better decision. If, however, Philosophy is the only manufacturer of the fragrance, QVC offers a money back guarantee and ensures total customer satisfaction. Philosophy products are also carried by the retailer Sephora, which if shopping in person for Philosophy's products, will eliminate any shipping charges and allow you to get a feel or smell for some of the product line. If you still are having trouble deciding which product to buy, try purchasing one of each in the smallest size that is available. After trying both, you will be able to determine whether Philosophy or Pinnacle products best suits your needs.

  • When in doubt, try both products and see which one you like best.
Some of the products' packaging looks almost identical and many of the gift sets contain the exact same merchandise configurations.
