Philosophy Purity Made Simple Facial Cleanser

About a month ago I was on the Sephora.com website looking for beauty products to spend a gift certificate. As I was in need of a new cleanser and had always wanted to try Philosophy products, I decided to buy a gift set of some of their more popular products. One of the products in this set was their cleanser Purity Made Simple. The first time I tried this cleanser I was in love.

Philosophy's Claims For This Product (taken from packaging):

*Deep cleans pores and eliminates makeup build-up.
*Hydrates as it melts away makeup.
*Contains mild cleansing agents.
*Natural oil extracts help condition skin.
*Contains a proprietary blend of extracts for a unique, fresh scent.

Purity Made Simple is just as the name states, simple. Everything about this product looks and feels fresh, pure and simple. It comes in a clear bottle with a black flip top. The product I have is 4 oz., but the full size cleanser is 8 oz. The cleanser itself is kind of an opaque white and has a fresh scent that is slightly floral. As with all Philosophy products it comes with a philosophical saying:

"purity is natural. we come into this world with all the right instincts. we are innocent, and therefore perceive things as they should be, rather than how they are. our conscience is clear, our hands are clean, and the world at large is truly beautiful. it is at this time we feel most blessed. to begin feeling young again, we must begin with the most basic step of all, the basic ritual of cleansing."

You don't need to use alot of this cleanser to wash your face, a small amount about the size of a dime will do the job. The cleanser is a little thin, the first time I used it I squeezed out way too much and I've tried to be more careful since then. This product does not lather much which surprised me at first but I quickly got used to the lack of lather. I love the way Purity Made Simple cleans my face. It doesn't run at all, the cleanser stays on your face until you wash it off. I usually massage it in with circular motions for about a minute or two before splashing water on my face to wash it off. There is absolutely no residue left behind. It washes away all my make-up and it does, in fact, seem to melt off my face. It even gets my eyeliner and mascara which I've always had trouble getting off with a mere cleanser. The most suprising thing about this cleanser was how mild it was. It does such a wonderful job of cleaning the face and is still very mild. My face does not feel dry or tight after using this product, it feels slightly moisturized. I had actually had a reaction to another skin product shortly before purchasing Purity Made Simple and I was pleasantly surprised when after 2 uses my skin had almost completely cleared up! This is by far my favorite cleanser.

I would highly recommend this product to others. This cleanser would be great for all skin types as it works hard at cleansing, but is gentle in the process. My skin always feels fresh, clean and wonderful after using Purity Made Simple. It's a little bit spendy at $20 for an 8 oz. bottle, but well worth the price!
