Disney has released "Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension" on Blu-ray and DVD much to the excitement of children and even their parents everywhere. I'm not a regular watcher of The Disney Channel's "Phineas and Ferb," but that didn't stop me from enjoying the duo and their platypus spy Perry's first full-length movie. It's full of the same wit, charm, and mix of juvenile yet sophisticated humor Disney has been successfully pulling off for many years now.
"Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension" begins as "Perry's worst fear comes true when Phineas and Ferb find out that he is in fact secret Agent P, but that soon pales in comparison during a trip to the 2nd dimension where Perry finds out that Dr. Doofenshmirtz is truly evil and successful."
It's no surprise Disney has made "Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension." "Phineas and Ferb" has been a steady hit since the weekly TV series debuted in 2007. It even won a Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Writing in Animation." The characters and their universe have proven themselves popular enough to merit a straight-to-DVD movie. There are even plans to make a live-action version of the show.
This movie was originally shown on The Disney Channel. "Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension" features all your favorite characters doing what they do best but on a grander scale. Phineas and Ferb get in bigger trouble and drive their sister Candace even crazier than usual. Perry battles two different versions of Dr. Doofenshmirtz and a cyborg version of himself in an alternate dimension. There are crazy songs like we've come to expect from the TV series as well.
"Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension" is only available in a 2-Disc regular format DVD version. The first disc includes the feature film; "Attack of the 50 Foot Sister" bonus episode and character/creator commentary; Perry-oke; Dr. D's Jukebox-inator; and more. The second disc features a digital copy of the movie that includes an exclusive song-"I Walk Away." It also features eight music tracks and a Platypult Kit for children to build.
The 2-Disc Ultimate Fan Pack of "Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension" is filled with fun and extra features. The humor and wit of the film caters to both children and their parents, making this a great candidate for family movie night at the house. You can rest assured that it is definitely not just for the kids.
