Phoebe Cates NYC Boutique Launches Website

A Whimsical Manhattan Shopping Experience, Without the Traffic!

If you are tired of your local Walmart and Target, have I found the website for you! There is no shopping experience quite like visiting a boutique in Manhattan! But not all of us are lucky enough to live close to the city. The rest of us are limited to our local stores, and the wild goose chase of searching for items on the internet. Once and a while you may find a website with new and different things, but they are usually pricey or items are 'sold out'. So coming across a store like this, that has an up to date online inventory is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Blue Tree is an eclectic boutique/gift shop on the upper east side of Manhattan. On the about me page of the website you will find a short bio of each of the stores employees. The inventory on the site is broken down into catagories, making it easy to find what you are looking for, even if you did'nt know it existed! Each item in the inventory, whether it is clothing, home décor, toys, or gifts, has been hand picked from all over the world by the owner, none other than actress Phoebe Cates.

Phoebe Cates is most remembered for her role as the popular girl in 1982's cult classic, Fast Times at Ridgemont High. You may also remember her as the girlfriend in the Gremlins, and starred in many other films as well. Harpers' Bazaar named her as one of America's 10 Most Beautiful Women in 1984. These days she is a mother of two children, Owen and Greta. She is married to the actor Kevin Kline.

Although the website is new, the Blue Tree opened in 2005. The boutique has a whimsical theme, as well as some very unique finds. I actually found a Frida Kahlo paper doll set here! Oddly enough, I also came across a Gangsta Rap Coloring book. Talk about variety! This store is authentic Manhattan to the core. With an eclectic collection of never-knew-it-existed items, this website will have you captivated for quite a while. Fear not, and dont let the idea of a pricey NYC boutique scare you away, because the prices are very reasonable!

Living in the east nowhere land as I do, and quite a drive from NYC, I appreciate the opportunity to be able to peruse the virtual isles of a store like this. If you are looking for something different, be sure to check them out!

This sounds like an intriguing place to shop. I loved Ms. Cates in Princess Cariboo!
