Photo Shoots in Latex

Famke Janssen had a rider's crop which she held in front of her threateningly, as if a warning that she was ready to use it against those she deemed naughty. But more important Famke was wearing a tight, zipped-up latex shirt. And it is because of the latex outfit that this particular picture got a lot of circulation on the Internet. One of the things celebrities do to remain celebrities is to schedule the odd photo shoot to be shown in magazines and other print mass media. The whole point of photo shoots is to draw attention to the celebrity. And to do this the photographer will usually dress the subject in a wide variety of attention drawing outfits. Latex will get anyone's attention, but is not often used. Creating an outfit with the latex material that fits the celebrity you are filming takes time, and usually her schedule has her showing up to the studio for only a few hours. It is easier to use other materials like satin, silk, or cotton. Here is a model's secret, to get those clothes to look like they fit perfectly they place clothespins in the back during the shoot to tighten the material up. The camera can't see the clothespins because they are on the opposite side of the model. The problem is you can not do this with some materials, one of them being latex which would rip. So you can not just use an off the rack latex outfit, you need one that will be the correct size for the celebrity you are filming. Another problem is getting the celebrity to agree to wearing the latex, something most women are sheepish of doing.

But the reward for the female celebrities willing to dress in latex is the attention the pictures draw, especially now with the Internet. A prime example is a set of photos with actress Cameron Diaz in a tight light blue latex mini dress. The same photo shoot had her in a not so tight pinkish latex sun dress. When these photos hit the Internet they could be found everywhere. Other actresses who wore latex for photo shoots included Gabriella Union who put on a blue latex dress for a series of photos in Honey magazine, Jeri Ryan who did a series of photos of her lounging in a chair wearing a dark blue tight latex gown, Thadia Newton in a pink latex sun dress, Sofia Vergara in a yellow latex gown, and Charisma Carpenter in a red latex gown for a shoot for FHM magazine. Scarlett Johannson has been mentioned in the same sentence as latex for the past couple of years now, first with reports that she was planning to wear a black latex dress for her wedding, and later that she would be wearing a latex catsuit for the movie Iron Man 2. But there is at least one picture of the actress wearing latex. A tight black latex dress with latex thrills. Carrie Anne Moss has been asked several times to pose in latex due to her association with the material playing Trinity in the movie The Matrix. Of course fashion models have been seen in latex. They are constantly doing photo shoots, so the sheer number of outfits they wear increases the chances that some will be latex. Among the super models that have worn latex in photo shoots include Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Karen Mulder, Eva Herzigova, Rebecca Romijn, Alessanra Ambrosio, Isabeli Fontana, Milla Jovovich, Laetitia Casta, Daria Werbowy, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss

Latex seems very popular with recording artists. Perhaps because they are asked so often to wear the material in their music videos. Everyone from Christina Aguilera to Mya has tried Latex in their photo shoots. While many of these would just be the odd latex glove, the odd leggings, or wacky latex costume, some have gone for the full all out latex look. One of the most memorable was Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls dressing up in a tight black latex mini dress for Complex magazine. Lady Gaga, September and Rihanna are all well known for dressing up in latex fashion. All three have also worn the latex catsuit. Catsuits seem to be the more popular fashion when it comes to latex, perhaps because since they have a zipper they are easier to get into than a tight fitting latex dress that has to be peeled on and squeezed into. Actress Gillian Anderson who is normally the conservative dresser surprised everyone with a series of photos of her posing seductively in a purple latex catsuit. Singer and actress Holly Valance did a full out S&M themed shoot in a black wig and various latex outfits including the black catsuit. Sharon Stone did a similar shoot. A surprising black and white picture of actress Rachel Weisz has her in a tight latex catsuit. When it first began circulating around the Internet it was widely assumed to be a fake as no other photos seemed to exist. It turned out to be a single photo taken by photographer Bob Carlos Clarke. Other celebrities seen in photos wearing latex catsuits include model Claudia Schiffer, wrestler Stacy Keibler, singer Samantha Fox, singer Shania Twain, and girl group Girls Aloud who shot a series of photos of themselves wearing the same black latex catsuits they wore in the music video Sexy, No No No. Another actress to wear a latex catsuit is Alicia Silverstone for a Peta ad. But she is more remembered for a series of sexy photos with her wearing a tight black latex dress lying in a bed.
