December is a great time to gather with family and friends during the holiday season. College students are completing their final exams and anxiously waiting for test results. Elementary and middle school students are bursting with anticipation for an educational hiatus from the rigors of their daily academic routine. Pre-school children are being serenaded with thoughts of Santa Claus and wondering if they've been naughty or nice. And the parents are busy ticking off the hours to their much-deserved vacation. Oh what fun it is!!!
If you happen to live in Raytown, MO or will be visiting in the near future, there is a rather unique display at the Raytown Historical Museum.
WHAT: "Picture the Past-The History of Photography"
WHEN: Now until the end of January 2012
LOCATION: 9705 E. 63rd St. Raytown, MO 64133
ADMISSION: Free but donations are welcomed
HOURS OF OPERATION: Wednesday through Saturday from 10-4
PHONE: 816-353-5033
According to the Raytown Times, "The exhibit features photography from first "bellow-type" cameras to Kodak Brownies, Leica, Nikon, Polaroid, and into the development of digital photography".
There will also be photographs and pictures of homes and business in the area. Some are still standing.
So if you're looking for a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of this season, this might just be a great alternative.
Say cheese!!!

Lee - Hey girlfriend, I came by today to read and was pleasantly surprised to see we could comment again.
Say Lee - can you do me a favor please?
Yahoo (finally!) published the last article that I've written about the little Indian girl on the reservation. She, Nicole, is emailing me daily to tell me that someone else left a comment. I tried to tell her that I get notification - but I don't think she understands that.
Can you stop by and leave HER an encouraging note? She'd love that.
Thanks, my friend, Merry Christmas if I don't get back before then. Oh, and I enrolled and begin my grant writing classes in January :) So excited to do this and freely help our non-profits :)
Love you.
