Photography Meets Fashion Design: An Interview with Margaret Wright

Approximately 2 months ago I came across Ms Margaret Wright's myspace website and was instantly impressed. There were two things that jumped out at me on this website: 1. The quality of the pictures that I saw and 2. Margaret's radiant personality. Margaret's smile seemed to illuminate the darkness. There was something special about this website, so much so that I had to learn a little bit more about this business and the person behind it.

In cyberspace today there are very few blogs and websites that actually inspire and encourage you, so when I come across the few positive ones out there I myself become encouraged.

I decided to book a photo session with Margaret Wright to learn more about the business. Ms. Wright came to my home with her assistant and good friend Niecy. They were both dressed very urban chic and Ms. Wright wore her signature newsboy cap that was very relaxed and chic at the same time.

Our photo shoot turned into a girl's weekend out. It was almost as if I had known Ms. Wright for years. The conversation was stimulating and fun. I think we talked for hours about everything from business to personal to spiritual matters. It was refreshing meeting someone that was real. I have been in the communications and financial industry for years and it's rare that you meet people that are real, so it was a great connection.

Today, I affectionately refer to Ms. Wright and her sister Niecy as my new family. It was so much fun that I decided I would sit down and talk to this young woman and allow her to share with the world a little bit more about who she is and what her vision is for the future. Following is a recap of my interview with Ms. Margaret Wright:

AC: Hi Margaret, thanks so much for allowing me and the world into your personal space....So to get started can you tell us, who is Margaret Wright? Where were you born?

MW: My pleasure Karen, thanks for wanting to know more about me. :-) smile!

I was born in Memphis but, grew up in Oakland, TN. I'm a fun loving

Individual who seeks after God's heart. I love encouraging people,

making them smile, learning about different cultures, and discovering the beauty in all things, whether it appears to be good or bad.

I love being a light to those who need it. I'm thankful to God for a solid foundation that was grounded in me by my parents. They taught me to believe in myself because there's nothing I can't do with God on my side. I'm thankful for their deposit in my life, along with my other siblings.

I've endured many trying situations, which have produced much wisdom and grace within me. I've learned to be a whole woman and love myself

first, so I can give each person a whole person to love, nothing

incomplete. I embrace each new day with great expectations knowing that

"I CAN" be all that I desire.

If I line myself accordingly with great pursuit, there's nothing I can't achieve if I work hard at it. The safest place to be is in the Master's will. So daily, I ask Him to guide me on my journey.

AC: I really love that last part M, "The safest place to be is in the Master's will. So daily I ask Him to guide me on my journey". Well said! Do you consider yourself a spiritual person?

MW: I am more of an inspirational person that puts God first and maintains a balance lifestyle.

AC: Tell us a little bit about your business. When and how did you start?

MW: Well, it started 6 years ago when I captured the last moments of my grandfather. It inspired me so much that I never put the camera down. That was when I realized my niche in photography, being able to provide lasting memories on camera.

AC: What inspires you Margaret?

MW: My inspiration comes from my relationship with God who gives me the ability and power to follow my destiny. He empowers me to love unconditional through all obstacles.

AC: What can the world expect from Margaret Wright in the coming years?

MW: I'll be opening up a boutique that will be carrying my fashion hat line, plus a marketing & business consulting firm, along with a nonprofit organization for abused women and children. So expect great things to come!

AC: Margaret, I wanted to let you know that you are a beautiful woman inside and out and I thank you so much for allowing us into your world and I wish you all the best in the future. One last question, what words of wisdom can you leave with our readers today that want to get into the world of photography?
