On a personal level people like to collect photographs, display them in their homes, discuss them and gregariously share them with others. It is the personal meaning of it to someone. Photography and art transcend logic and reason and tap into a new experience deep within, awakening the eternal spirit that enriches our sense of being. They stimulate our aesthetic emotions.
The creative moment imparts a unique experience that we find ourselves part of, something that isn't immediately understandable or easy to internalize, but, nonetheless, gradually becomes influential to us. Our relationship with visual images that drives us- the other worldly that imbues our place in the moments when we have been forgotten, and conjure the illusion of arresting the passing of purposes. Our world is saturated with images that evolves over time when we re-visit old photographs and think about them. They reflect our dreams, wishes, wants, and insecurities - a panoply of memories and emotions, drives and intents. Photography acts as a vehicle for our spiritual journey.
Photography is something very life force that function for a great diversity of time. They provide a reference to experiences, preserving these moments on film, times that otherwise may have lived and shared. In photography, most images/photographs are important, personal icons that we construct around us. What make a good photograph are all things to all people.
What does the camera and photography represent to us? Do we shoot, take or make photographs? How conscious are we in the world around us and serve as an abstract representation of the personal and collective unconscious, and bring moments of private meaning into being. Photographs reflect a solid sense of our lives with magic and wonder. They are made in a brief moment, the split second where a particular event becomes unique within the continuum of time and the past metamorphoses into the very individual, - our background, emotions, self identity, personal aesthetics, culture and language; these all embellish the detail of private meaning that becomes significant to intervene in the passage of time? The multitude of experience we use the camera to the image we identify with.
