Post a CommentMy step-father worked there for a while when I was a kid.... we used to go with him in the mornings sometimes and feed the animals in the petting zoo (including a giraffe named "Charlie" ) I remember quite a few of the animals... there was Bobo and Blossom, chimps.... Jocko was a nasty monkey with a bad attitude, lots of memories. Thanks for the pictures!
I remember this park quite well. My dad took me here many times when I was a little boy. I was very sad when I learned it had closed. Had many wonderful memories visiting there.
I would love to go to these places that have been forsaken and relive part of what used to be...great write and slides. beautiful.
You have such an eye for art! That was a very cool tour, especially the crumbling foundation. I'm surprised the park's in that good of a shape - there must be someone maintaining it?
How quickly nature begins to reclaim its own. Thanks for sharing these.
I feel like I want to rescue this place!

You've given us a wonderful look into the past. It is so tragic to see what was probably at one time a beautiful and fun place. Keep them coming.
