Amethyst Jewelry Slideshow

Lorraine Yapps Cohen

Amethyst is a quartz, or silicon dioxide. We know amethyst by its purple color, although it can pale to white upon natural or manmade irradiation. Cobalt-60 irradiation takes amethyst to a pale green color, resulting in green amethyst or prasiolite.

I love amethyst. I have a large collection of amethyst crystals. One day after reading about the "energy waves" it brings I scattered them about the house. I put one on top of the TV, one in my car and several in the bedroom. The TV quite, the car broke down within two days and I quickly removed the ones in the bedroom. LOL. I still love it's beauty. These are beautiful.
